DESCRIPTION
This is a fantastic vintage Ludwig 5-pc drumset that recently came into our shop on trade. Included are a 14x22" bass drum with double tom arm, 16x16" floor tom with legs, 9x13" and 8x12" mounted toms, and a 5x14" Supraphonic snare drum. All of the drums date to the 1960s (we believe 1966 based on badge numbers and interior stamp in the snare). All of the drums also appear to be all original. We consider this to be a very good condition "players" kit and not necessary a "collector's" kit. The drumset is fully functional, sounds and looks great, but there are a few aesthetic issues that keep us from putting it in the excellent category. 14x22" Bass Drum
- Wrap is clean and vivid with only typical age-appropriate signs of use (scuffs, scratches, and small dings). Seams are secure.
- Bearing edges are in very good condition.
- Interior is clean. There are some indications that the interior was repainted at some point, but if so, it was quite a long time ago. There is no interior date stamp.
- All hardware is completely functional but displays signs of age and use, including scuffs, scratches, and some pitting.
- Double tom arm is in good condition and is fully functional.
- Both the batter and audience side heads are used.
- Both hoops show quite a bit of wear, including scuffs, scratches, dings, indentions. The inlay is damaged or missing in a couple spots on the batter side hoop.
- Badge number is slightly difficult to read but appears to be 336718.
16x16" Floor Tom
- Wrap is clean and vivid with only typical age-appropriate signs of use (scuffs, scratches, and small dings). Seams are secure.
- Bearing edges and re-rings are in very good condition.
- Interior is clean. There are some indications that the interior was repainted at some point, but if so, it was quite a long time ago. There is no interior date stamp.
- Baseball bat internal muffler is in place and functions as designed.
- All hardware is completely functional but displays signs of age and use, including scuffs, scratches, and some pitting.
- Both the batter and audience side heads are new.
- Badge number is slightly difficult to read but appears to be 327805.
9x13" Mounted Tom
- Wrap is clean and vivid with only typical age-appropriate signs of use (scuffs, scratches, and small dings). Seams are secure.
- Bearing edges and re-rings on the batter side are in very good condition. There is an issue on the reso side bearing edge where the drum was played for a time without a bottom head or rim and the bearing edge appears to have rubbed against a floor tom leg, which caused part of the bearing edge to be "ground" away (see pics).
- Interior is clean. There are some indications that the interior was repainted at some point, but if so, it was quite a long time ago. There is no interior date stamp.
- Baseball bat internal muffler is in place and functions as designed.
- All hardware is completely functional but displays signs of age and use, including scuffs, scratches, and some pitting.
- Both the batter and audience side heads are new.
- Badge number is slightly difficult to read but appears to be 327595.
8x12" Mounted Tom
- Wrap is clean and vivid with only typical age-appropriate signs of use (scuffs, scratches, and small dings). Seams are secure.
- Bearing edges and re-rings are in very good condition.
- Interior is clean. There are some indications that the interior was repainted at some point, but if so, it was quite a long time ago. There is no interior date stamp.

5x14" Supraphonic Snare Drum
- Exterior is quite corroded with lots of scuffs, scratches, and pitting in the chrome.
- Bearing edges are in very good condition.
- Interior is clean. Date stamp reads AUG 29 1966.
- All hardware is completely functional but displays signs of age and use, including scuffs, scratches, and pitting.
- Both the batter and audience side heads are new.
- Badge number is slightly difficult to read but appears to be 363920.
