DESCRIPTION
This is a vintage Ludwig 6.5" depth x 14" diameter Classic snare drum from the mid-1960s. Featuring a Blue Sparkle wrapped finish, chrome hardware, 16 lugs (8 per side), and badge number 40063, this drum is in very good, fully functional condition, and it sounds absolutely fantastic!
As a used item with many decades of handling and use, expect typical signs of wear including surface scuffs and scratches, a small ding on the batter hoop, light corrosion on the hardware, fingerprints, and dust. The painted white interior is a bit dirty, but it is structurally sound with clean bearing edges and snug re-rings. Note that there are some areas where the interior paint is a different color. The heads are the only components that are obviously not original, but it also appears as though some of the backing screws and a few of the tension rods are not original. There is no visible date stamp.
