Does supersonic sell school band instruments?
If it's drum or percussion related, then we've got it (or can get it). However, if you're looking for a trumpet, saxophone, French horn, etc., we don't typically have those items in the store. Once in a while we'll take a brass or woodwind instrument on trade, but other than these occasional used instruments, we do not sell nor repair school band instruments. We DO have a hearty stock of beginning band method books used by most schools in the area, as well as some reeds/oil/grease required for basic maintenance.
does supersonic buy used instruments?
Yes, of the kinds we sell: Drums, Guitars, some PA gear and fully-functional electronics. Used inventory is in and out all the time. If you want to sell us something used, be sure you bring all that you want to sell--we can't pay you for your amp with footswitch if you don't bring us the footswitch. Also, bring your ID and be prepared to sign that you own the goods you're trying to sell. Value of used items is determined by many factors, including condition, market value, local demand, etc.
does supersonic do appraisals?
Yes. Supersonic Music offers written appraisals for estate valuations, insurance purposes, etc. Fees vary depending on several factors. Contact Derek to discuss your specific situation.
what kinds of repair services does supersonic offer?
Supersonic can repair most anything having to do with drums, guitars, basses, and amplification. And if we can't fix it, we know guys who can! We do not repair school band instruments. For a more complete listing of common repairs, check out our Repairs page.
does supersonic have a layaway program?
Yes. Most items in our store can be placed on layaway for up to 90 days (interest free) with a downpayment of one-third the total cost. For more specific information on our layaway program, check out our Layaway page.
can supersonic special order something that's not in stock?
Of course! We do this all the time. For common items that just happen to be out of stock, we're happy to place an order with no downpayment. If you want to order something that we don't normally stock, a downpayment of one-third (in some cases one-half) the total cost is required. See our Special Orders page for more information.
what is supersonic's return policy?
We are happy to replace or exchange defective merchandise if it is returned to the store within 30 days and accompanied by an original receipt, but under no circumstances will we offer cash refunds. Our return policy for items purchased online is a bit more specific. Please visit our Return Policy page for details.
does supersonic take trade-ins?
Yes! We take trades in nearly every day! If you have something to trade, be sure you bring in all of it that you're trading--that is, showing us only 3 drums won't be enough to let us arrive at an agreement on a value of your drumset if you left the snare and floor tom at home. Also, bring your ID and be prepared to sign that you own the goods. Finally, the value of used trade-in items is determined by many factors, including condition, market value, local demand, etc.
i bought something from supersonic and it broke! what can i do?
First off, sorry about that! If it was new and under the manufacturer's warranty, you can bring it in for us to evaluate and in some cases perform repairs. If it needs to go back to the manufacturer, we can help with the paperwork/return authorization/shipping/etc., unless you want to do it yourself. You'll need a copy of your receipt. In some cases we can provide you a loaner if you have a performance or recording date coming up. If the item was used, we offer A 30 day in-house warranty good for repair, exchange, or in-store credit.
does supersonic sell cds? vinyl? a new needle for my phonograph?
Sorry, no. We stock some instructional CDs and the occasional local band CD on consignment, but we're not that kind of music store.
i don't know the folks at supersonic and have never been in the store. Can i trust you?
Supersonic Music upholds - and everyone who works here personally has a strong ethic of - the Golden Rule. We treat others the way we want to be treated. Look, we're not going to blow fluffy bologna in your face like scams for extended warranty fees or lies about some perfect condition of used merchandise for sale. With nearly two decades of experience, we're not here to "screw folks out of rent." We're here to develop clients for the long haul to pay the mortgage. We are normal people, each with our own unique personalities, and we all strive to be fair and treat people honestly and with respect.
I saw a negative review about supersonic online. what do you have to say about that!?
We are not so arrogant as to claim we never make mistakes. When we screw up, we apologize and do our best to make things right. If you know of something that was done or said that was disrespectful or out of line, please let us know so we can improve. If we did something right, tell folks! If we did something wrong, tell Derek. We have a convenient online Comment Box where you can leave your feedback, both positive AND negative!
i saw a positive review about supersonic online. what do you have to say about that?
We feel honored and are grateful for folks' kind words. Our take on reviews is that they should be organic and honest. We do not ask people to go pump us up on the review boards, but we're certainly happy when our customers are happy. It's our highest priority, and we hope that we're successful more often than not.
