Product broken? Failed to perform as promised? Below is a list of manufacturers' warranties.
Supersonic Music is committed to providing you quality products that will last. We offer choices from companies who make durable products and offer great service to our customers. As you know, sometimes things go wrong and some things fail that shouldn’t have. Here’s what you can expect from us and some info from our major manufacturers:
Warranties for Used Items
All* of our used goods are checked in, adjusted &/or repaired to be functional (unless otherwise marked such as something super cheap just for parts) before being put out on the sales floor and carry an in-house 30-day warranty. This covers structural things such as functional guitar tuning machine heads, stable amp input wiring, non-stripped bass drum spurs, etc. If we missed something, bring it back with receipt within 30 days for us to repair or you can receive store credit for 100% of what you paid. Having your uncle’s friend with a welding torch “give it a go” will mean ya gotta pay for us to fix it. This in-house warranty for used items does not cover consumable things such as bow hair, strings, heads, sticks, and cymbals. Also, personal items are non-returnable such as harmonicas, reeds, throat spray and hats.
*This warranty covers products that we owned at the time of your purchase; it does not cover items that we sell on consignment which were owned by other customers at the time of sale.
Manufacturers' Warranties for New Items
Nearly everything that we sell new is covered by a manufacturer’s warranty. Exceptions include consumable goods such as sticks, heads, and strings. If warranty service work is needed, you are welcome to contact the manufacturers directly to deal with the logistics on your own. However, we offer to help you with this—bring in the goods along with a copy of the original receipt you got from us and we’ll be your go-between. Usually, this process requires shipping to the manufacturer. Since we are a moderate-volume shipper anyway, these shipping charges are usually less than someone would pay at the walk-in counter of a shipping company. We’ll organize return authorizations, pack, and ship on your behalf, they do their thing, ship the piece back to us, then we call you. When you pick up the goods, we’ll collect reimbursement for the initial outgoing shipping. Understand that it is the manufacturer who decides if issues are covered under warranty. We can help explain to them what happened, but they decide if they’ll repair/replace/charge to fix. If you have a critical performance when your piece that you got from us is out for warranty consideration, we offer to do our best to provide a loaner of some kind for you to use for the show.
Each manufacturer does their own thing regarding what exactly constitutes warranted coverage, but in general, proper use and maintenance is your responsibility. Be sure you hit cymbals with a glancing blow, humidify acoustic guitars appropriately, and don’t use hammers or chainsaws. Also, it is your responsibility to secure your proof of purchase/receipt—most manufacturers require a copy of this to obtain warranty service. We may not be able to reproduce lost documents. The button below will link to a summary that hits the high points of each manufacturer; for more details about Warranty Coverage, please refer to whatever paperwork may have come with your product or refer to each manufacturer’s website.
