Instrument(s) and Levels Taught
  • Jason teaches snare drum, drumset, and mallet instruments to students of all ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced.

Education History
  • Jason has a degree in Music Education from Washburn University where he studied extensively with Dr. Tom Morgan.

Teaching History
  • Jason has been teaching drums and percussion since 2006 and has been a member of the Supersonic family since 2009. He currently maintains a studio of approximately 20 private students each week. He thoroughly enjoys the one-on-one connections that teaching provides. He also enjoys developing longer-term relationships with students and watching them grow over time, some of them into professional musicians themselves.

Performance History and Influences
  • Jason is well versed in many styles and genres but chooses to focus most of his energy these days in the local theatre scene. He has performed extensively at Topeka Civic Theatre, the Helen Hocker Theatre, and the Ad Astra Theatre, and he has been a part of such notable productions as Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show, Broadway Stars Jeff and Nikki Kready, and a performance tour of England and recording session with “The Fountain City Brass Band." Jason cites as some of his most important influences Todd Sucherman, Dave Grohl, and anyone else who can make music alive, interesting, and educational!

Other Thoughts, Hobbies, Etc.
  • When not teaching, performing, or building drums for TreeHouse, Jason enjoys gardening and spending time outdoors with his wife and children. One of his favorite quotes is "Playing music is fun. Playing music WELL is life changing."

Contact Information
  • Jason can be contacted through his website www.jasondrums.com or through Supersonic Music.
